Aims of our association

More than just a hobby

Since 1989, the Tin Figure Cabinet is run by Volunteers of the Circle of Friends and Promoters. They design the 21 showcases with tin figures („dioramas“) that illustrate some dramatical  events of Germany´s freedom-history. Some dioramas are under construction, further ones will be created in the next years.

We meet reguarly in our workshop which is also situated in the Swabian Gate tower. Our group is joined by women and men in the age of 35 to 80. We are looking for further participants who share our interests. We construct dioramas for the Tin Figure Cabinet, cast and paint tin figures, design rural and urban topographies and discuss historical documents in order to picture the historical events as authentic as possible.
